ULI UK has just finished another successful UrbanPlan tour and during its 5th anniversary! The programme is going from strength-to-strength and all the enhancements that have been made to the workshop scenario this year have been very positively received. The November tour visited 20 schools, reaching just under 800 students and working with 77 industry volunteers. After a successful pilot earlier in 2019, ULI UK is excited to announce it is launching a mentoring programme for UrbanPlan pupils. In partnership with Brightside the aim is to match enthusiastic pupils from the schools we have visited with UrbanPlan volunteers – all via an online platform. UrbanPlan UK has had another successful year! We have visited 42 schools since September 2019 from Glasgow to Brighton and worked with 100 new volunteers reaching 1200 young people! We also ran a very successful mentoring pilot with partners Brightside and are hoping to raise the funds to roll that out next academic year. UrbanPlan UK won two bronze awards at this year’s Corporate Engagement Awards http://www.corporateengagementawards.com/the-winners/ in London which we are delighted about! We were up against some stiff competition from major brands such as M&S, KPMG, O2 and NatWest to name but a few. It’s incredible to believe that UrbanPlan UK, ULI’s really exciting educational initiative for state schools promoting a better understanding of sustainable communities for young people from all walks of life, has now been running for three years.
