UrbanPlan UK won two bronze awards at this year’s Corporate Engagement Awards http://www.corporateengagementawards.com/the-winners/ in London which we are delighted about! We were up against some stiff competition from major brands such as M&S, KPMG, O2 and NatWest to name but a few. We walked away with third place for Best educational programme and Best sponsorship activity to support or develop a corporate reputation.

It’s incredible to believe that UrbanPlan UK, ULI’s really exciting educational initiative for state schools promoting a better understanding of sustainable communities for young people from all walks of life, has now been running for three years. Since its launch in 2015, the programme has been delivered to over 2500 students in over 100 state schools across the country. We are visiting another 15 schools in March 2018 reaching well over 500 more students! And, we have recently been joined by three new funders too – thanks to Legal and General, Redevco Foundation and Allsop for supporting our programme here in the UK and we are looking forward to working with you. What’s more – the team are also heading off to run pilots in Hong Kong, The Philippines and Singapore – UrbanPlan really is on its way to becoming a truly global programme!

Thanks to the GLA for hosting another fantastic celebration event at City Hall this week for students having recently completed ULI’s UrbanPlan programme. Students heard from David Kong, Foster & Partners (one of the architects on the building) as well as from Chris Choa of AECOM and ULI UK Chairman. They also had the opportunity to network with property industry professionals and even managed a game of ‘people bingo’!

The UrbanPlan team visited another 20 schools in the Spring taking the overall total for the academic year to 35 schools. That means we have reached 800 pupils this year alone! And, overall, we have delivered to 1500 young people with the support of 350 industry volunteers. The UrbanPlan UK team are off on tour again in March – this time we start in Southampton and finish in Aberdeen! 20 schools will mean we reach another 600 pupils -in just four weeks!
