UrbanPlan UK 2016-17 Programme Takes Shape

After a very successful first year delivering UrbanPlan UK in 24 schools and reaching 500 pupils, we are now turning our attention to the next academic year. Thanks to the wonderful support of our funders (our original group and some new recruits) we are in good shape to plan ahead for next year and it is our aspiration to deliver in 40 schools targeting 1200 pupils across the country. We are already booking schools from Scotland to Southampton.

ULI was delighted to host an exclusive event for all the pupils participating on its UrbanPlan schools programme in Scotland this week. With a fabulous tour of Clyde Gateway, the pupils were shown how urban regeneration revives towns and cities – bringing their classroom based studies to life.  Thanks to The Clyde Gateway team; our Scotland Chairman, Michael Henderson; Deirdre McCarthy of JLL and Michael Mortensen of Grosvenor for making it happen!  We will be back in Scotland in the 2016/17 academic year in a minimum of four schools across the region.  Watch this space for updates as we will be looking for volunteers and financial support.

We have also been invited to participate in the RICS Diversity and Inclusion conference taking place on June 29th in London. If you are interested in attending take a look at the website

If your organisation would like to discuss joining our exclusive group of funders or if you personally would like to volunteer please contact Amanda Keane amanda.keane@uli.org. The next volunteer training session will be in October and we will be back in schools in November.
