UrbanPlan UK March 2020 update

Inevitably, given the impact of the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, we had to sadly postpone part of our March 2020 school tour. But the good news is that we were at least able to visit 10 of the planned 18 schools – and the feedback was fantastic! We delivered to 234 students, with 27 teachers and 34 volunteers participating AND 100% of them rated the workshop excellent or good! We can’t do much better than that!

We have also had to make the difficult decision to extend the postponement to cover our July 2020 tour too.  Even though we remain hopeful that schools will have re-opened by then, we feel that timetabling our programme would add an unnecessary burden on those schools at such a challenging time. However, we are already looking ahead to the academic year 2020-21 and have plans to reschedule all the schools we missed – so we will be in touch again with all our volunteers – old and new – and hope you will choose to get involved again next year.

“Our students were kept thoroughly engaged and had the opportunity to develop and practice a variety of skills. In particular they gained confidence through their presentations. One of our students loved the. day and found it so fun, she has decided she would love a career in urban development”
